The protagonist is a warrior prince named Bairn from the island kingdom of Endra-La. A mysterious warrior with a dark blade is waging war against the gods, killing them one by one. Spawn: Godslayer is set in a world of epic fantasy. Spawn: Godslayer is also the name of a special published in October 2006 set before the events of the series. The series is a re-imagining of the popular Spawn franchise, taking place within a medieval fantasy setting rather than the main Spawn universe. Spawn: In the Demon's Hand features a total of thirty-seven playable characters, with twelve unlocked right from the beginning. There are a few other modes like a tiered team fighting mode, much like Mortal Kombat but with two players. As in the campaign-style modes, there is also the ability to open chests and get upgraded weapons. Some of the characters have a hover ability, some can punch, others shoot guns or have fireball breath. The player can choose between all the unlocked weapons and characters and fight against up to three other players. Multiplayer is this game's strongest part. Every character is equipped with a specific set of weapons at the launch of the first level, and opening chests give the player item drops, sometimes based on your equipped weapon, which makes it really hard to get everything in the game.Ĭo-op is similar to Single player, but split-screen and has a few different scenarios and unlockables. The cool thing about this is that almost everything in the game is unlockable, and playing through certain scenarios with different characters will cause different weapons to appear, and more things to unlock. The Single Player consists of basically battling through levels until the boss arrives (usually on a timer) collecting points and power-ups. It has a large variety of unlockable characters, many items, and weapons to pick up while traversing through the large, unique levels, and multiple modes of play.
